FAQs on health

I have a bad back and even walking can be too hard; what can I do to get some exercise?
The back trouble is simply from weak abdominal muscles and poor posture. When there is something structurally wrong with your back, like a herniated or bulging disk or some muscular problem, non-weight bearing activities like a stationary or recumbent bicycle might be better than activities where you pound, like jogging or dancing. One of the best activities is swimming, because the water supports your weight and there is very little pounding, especially in your back.

You talk of wondrous things you see,
You say the sun shines bright;
I feel him warm, but how can he
Or make it day or night?

Do you know that our eyes can live even after our death? By donating our eyes after we die, can light the life of a blind person.
About 35 million people in the developing world are blind and most of them can be cured. About 4.5 million people with corneal blindness can be cured through corneal transplantation of donated eyes. Out of these 4.5 million, 60% are children below the age of 12. So, if we have got the gift of vision, why not pass it on to somebody who does not have it? What do we have to keep in mind when eyes have to be donated?
  •   Eye donors can belong to any age group or sex. People who use spectacles, or those operated for cataract, can still donate the eyes. People who are diabetic, have hypertension, asthma patients and those without communicable diseases can also donate eyes.
  • Eyes must be removed within 4-6 hours after death. Inform the nearest eye bank immediately.
  • The eye bank team will remove the eyes at the home of the deceased or at a hospital.
  • Eye removal takes only 10-1 minutes. It is a simple process and does not lead to any disfigurement.
  • Persons who were infected with or died because of AIDS, Hepatitis B or C, rabies, acute leukaemia, tetanus, cholera, meningitis or encephalitis cannot donate eyes.
An eye bank collects, evaluates and distributes the donated yes. All eyes donated are evaluated using strict medical standards. Those donated eyes found unsuitable for transplantation are used for valuable research and medical education. The identities of both the donor and the recipients remain confidential.
One pair of eyes gives vision to TWO CORNEAL BLIND PEOPLE! Just think it over..

With so much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health.

Dealing with Sphygmomanometer

A sphygmomanometer or blood pressure meter (also referred to as a sphygmometer) is a device used to measure blood pressure, composed of an inflatable cuff to restrict blood flow, and a mercury or mechanical manometer to measure the pressure. It is always used in conjunction with a means to determine at what pressure blood flow is just starting, and at what pressure it is unimpeded. Manual sphygmomanometers are used in conjunction with a stethoscope.
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphygmomanometer

When using the sphygmomanometer to take blood pressure, do not pressurize the cuff higher than 150 mm Hg. Allow two minutes to pass before re-inflating the cuff when taking repeat blood pressure measurements on the same individual. This experiment can cause stress leading to a shock reaction and unconsciousness.

To get rid of your negative habits, you must first understand what creates them.
Your habits are created by your thoughts. When you were born into this world, you have no habits. You pick up your habits from the influence from your surrounding and your own life experiences.
Your parents, your friends, your teachers, your boss, your peers… basically anyone can affect your habits by influencing your thoughts. Once you have a certain thought in your mind, your mind will start to send signals to your emotion and hence you will take a certain set of action, which is your habits, to produce a certain results.

Unless something ‘bad’ happened, you’ll keep on cycling the same pattern over and over again. if you want to change your habit, you must create a new thought and emotion in your mind to replace the existing pattern.
It is not like computer, which you can simply press on the delete button to delete away files that you don’t want. Your mind works differently in ‘deleting’ negative thoughts or habits that you don’t want. you’ll have to start by replacing your old patterns with new ones.
Some people procrastinate all the time. They choose to watch TV instead of investing their time into reading development books. They get instant gratification of feeling joy when watching TV. This will reinforce their thought pattern that watching TV is good and reading books is something they don’t like.
This cycle will keep on going until one day, something forces them to change. Such as if they did not change their habits, they’ll be in dept. When this happen, they’ll forces themselves to take different set of action that will lead to different results.

So, This is how you can change your habits and behaviors...
